B Vitamins
The B vitamins include: B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin and niacinimide), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cobalamin), folic acid, biotin, choline, inositol, PABA, (para aminobenzoic acid), and folic acid (folate). Each B vitamin has it’s own unique structure and function in the body. B vitamins help to maintain the health of the nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver, and mouth as well as healthy muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract and proper brain function. They are also involved in energy production. In addition, Vitamin B plays an important role in the function of the nervous system, which has led many healthcare practitioners to use high doses to alleviate some psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety. It is important for elderly people to consume vitamin B, because it is not as well absorbed as we age
