High Osmolarity:

• Promotes a moisture-balanced environment conducive to optimal wound healing in multiple etiologies
• The high osmotic potential of Medihoney promotes an outflow of wound fluid that helps to soften and liquefy necrotic tissue
• Medihoney aids in autolytic debridement and the removal of necrotic tissue containing factors that can delay wound healing

Low pH:

• Medihoney has a low pH of 3.5-4.5
• It is associated with lower pH levels within the wound.

When to change Derma Sciences Burn and Wound Dressing?

Change dressing as directed by healthcare professional.

Recommended Secondary Dressings:

Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing depending on the amount of exudate and frequency of dressing change required.

Contraindications:

Third-degree burns and patients with a known sensitivity to honey.
